Sebastien Freuler, Collective22 @ Free Range Art Week July 2009

Sebastien Freuler participated in the Free Range Art Week Exhibition that ran from 2-6 July. He collaborated with 21 other artists: the Collective 22. Collective 22 was a group of students from the MA in Image and Communication programme at Goldsmiths, a University reputed for being a major cultural force. Besides being named one of the UK's CoolBrands five times, six Goldsmith Alumni have won the prestigious Turner Prize in the past. Collective 22 was a unique concoction of 18 different nationalities whose artistic backgrounds ranged  from fashion to digital animation, approaching subjects in creative and unconventional ways while maintaining the highest academic standards in research and practice.

Sebastien Freuler's work presented at Free Range involved a collaborative project with Bettina John from Berlin and Jaime Leme from São Paulo. Together they made a live photo shoot within the exhibition space. Each day they organized a series of different activities that revolved around the world of studio photography: fashion shoot, snapshots and an interactive day. Sebastien Freuler’s work deals with his day to day  experience of the digital contemporary image. His work is a work in progress.
