Switzerland Design for Life (SDL) presented 22 young Swiss Designers in the form of an exhibition spanning two floors– divided into Object and Furniture Design and Graphic Design - at the A Foundation Rochelle School Gallery. The two-week exhibition was conceived by the Embassy of Switzerland, Pace PR and the Architectural Association, London. With various events and talks, political as well as artistic, taking place at the venue at the same time, SDL was hugely successful and presented a visually strong, exciting and new picture, full of innovative content, of what Swiss Design is today. With extensive press coverage, such as the front cover of Design Week, a Guardian insert ,various on-line articles and ongoing discussion about bringing the Show to Istanbul Design Week 2010, we sincerely believe it has been a fantastic success. The SCFB is proud to have been able to play a crucial part in giving a vast number of innovative and extremely talented Swiss artists the chance to present their work and attempt to re-define the British audience’s view of how the Swiss regard themselves and how they would like the world to experience and see the “Swissness” in Swiss Design of today.
